BREAST HEALTH
We all know that early detection is key to surviving any cancer, including breast cancer.
A thermogram can identify precancerous cellular changes up to eight years before a mammogram can without the radiation or discomfort.
Thermograms don't actually look for tumors. They detect what comes first, growth of new blood vessels that ultimately support the growth of a tumor. This FDA approved method uses a special camera to measure heat patterns emitted from the body. Pre-cancerous blood vessels show up in breast images as higher in temperature than surrounding "normal" breast tissue. Heat is an indication that inflammation exists. Women as young as 30, an age group not traditionally advised to get regular mammograms, can undergo thermography testing, especially if they have a family history of breast cancer.
Thermography screening is preventive. It detects subtle but important inflammatory changes and gives patients the opportunity to make adjustments in diet and lifestyle to transform cells before they become cancerous.
Thermography is performed in our office by X to Rays. Appointments are scheduled directly with Dee DeNoia at 860-389-0710. For more information about Dee and X to Rays please visit www.xtorays.com.
